First let me say…
I’m doing it! Blog post # 2 is up! #winning.
Second, let me tell you about this little series that I’d like to try to keep up – The Locals. Catchy name, right?! So… because I’m such a huge fan of and try to do my best to support local companies (and by “local”, I mostly mean Canadian, but hey, there are no real “rules”), I figured that when I find one I love, I’d tell you about it. I’m so insanely inspired and motivated by folks who hustle hard to turn their passion into a business and get to wake up everyday to go do what they love, that even though these little posts aren’t likely to reach the masses, I wanna share.
So without further adieu, here we go…
Scrunchies are back (yass) !! And that proves three things:
- I am a legit OG, which, for those of you wondering, means “original gangsta” and according to Urban Dictionary is “someone who has been around.” So ya, I was around when scrunchies made their first appearance back in the 90s.
- I have become my parents – if only I had of kept all my scrunchies from back in the day.
- The messy, second day hair, top knot is in style, which means I’m practically a style influencer. Forget the mom-bun (there are no kiddos on the farm, unless you count the furry ones); can I get a shout to for the work-from-home bun?!
Chelsea King is a Canadian company that I stumbled across on Instagram last year that sells handmade scrunchies. Admittedly, I wasn’t sure at first – are scrunchies really a thing again? But then my feed blew up with cutely styled top knots and pony tails, so after reading some of the 300+ 5 star reviews on the company’s Etsy shop, yes, I’m admitting it, I jumped on the bandwagon. I got a black one and a greige-ish one made of vegan suede and ladies – they’re awesome! The material is super nice and they’re the perfect size and scrunchy-ness. So now if we could just work on making this trend office appropriate…
